BORN THAT WAY
“Yep, he was born that way. And at 20 yrs. old he is still that way.”, said Sara.
“ But he is wearing a diaper crapping and peeing himself and expecting someone to change him. He cries when he is hungry, for God’s sake and expects to be fed a bottle! What’s wrong with him!” said Michael
” Nothing physically, it’s just his choice.”
What a nightmare this would be for any parent. We are born soiling ourselves, but we are expected to grow out of it. We are born needing someone to feed us but we are expected to learn to feed ourselves then provide for ourselves and our families. From the moment we are born we are expected to learn, physically, emotionally, intellectually and yes, spiritually, Learning is THE PURPOSE OF LIFE.
It is spiritual boot camp. We are told we are born with a tendency towards problems. The Bible calls it original sin. BUT we are also told that we can overcome the problems and heal and grow and qualify by believing and trying. Life on earth is THE QUALIFYING ROUND.
We will never be perfect, but we do have to believe and try. We can’t keep doing the same things over and over again and expect Christ to say ” no problem” when we leave.
IT IS A BIG PROBLEM! he told us! Believe, say we’re sorry and try not to make that mistake again. We need to believe, try to be more Christ like every day, try …try…try..
DO THE WORK….CARRY THE CROSS. For Christ and ourselves.
Everyone is now saying that I was born that way……so what! Everyone has issues and everyone has stuff to learn. So what if we are born a certain way, Christ is telling us to GET OVER IT, MOVE PAST IT, SUCCEED he will show us The Way, The Truth, and The Life.
Everybody won’t qualify to get out of here in one spiritual piece and be able to move on and it will all be by our own choice! How many times, how many ways can he tell us? WE, can’t party til we puke and expect him to clean up the mess! We have to try, and believe and try some more to qualify and THAT MEANS GIVING UP THE HUMAN NATURE THAT WE WERE BORN WITH AND GOING WITH HIS PROGRAM. So if we are not willing to sacrifice what we want now for life with him later… it is our choice. We can’t expect anything different than that at out time of death . He told us
We can’t let our old selves hold us back either. That isn’t what he wanted and that is calling him a liar. How frustrating and painful would it be for a parent to watch a child not accept a high school diploma because they were the last to learn the ABC’s in first grade. They were a great student the rest of the time, but they are still punishing his or her self constantly for something-that they actually overcame, succeeded at, but now refuse to move on. Christ wants us to say sorry and mean it, We try to never do these things again, accept a new life, a Spirit filled life and move on for him and for all of God’s children, for ourselves.
And judging others that are on a different learning curve…AIN’T IT! Tell them that freedom through Christ and everything that he did for us is available and he can’t wait to give it to anyone and everyone who asks. Those who do will no longer believe the lies that they are born a certain way and have no choice beyond that. This lie is the exact opposite of everything God told us from the get go. It is about choice and absolute freedom to choose and accepting the consequences of our own choice. Christ will show us The Way, The Truth and The Life. He loves us …he is waiting.
“Ask, and you will be given what you ask for. Seek and you will find. Knock and the door will be opened. For everyone who asks, receives” Anyone who seeks, finds If you only will knock the door will open. If a child asks his father for a loaf of bread will he be given a stone instead? If he asks for a fish will he be given a poisonous snake? Of course not! And if you hardhearted, sinful men know how to give good gifts to your children, won’t your Father in heaven even more certainly give good gifts to those who ask for them?” said Jesus Christ
So you see how it is: my new life tells me to do right, but the old nature that is still inside me tells me to sin. Oh what a terrible predicament I’m in! Who will free me from my slavery to my deadly lower nature? Thank God ! It has been done by Jesus Christ our Lord. He has set me free.
For God so loved the world so much that He gave His only Son so that anyone who believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. God did not send His Son into the world to condemn it but to save it.
There is a choice to qualify ….believe
